2. Vance Johnson, Sr., Waunakee
Waunakee has a rich football history and continued it last season by going 13-1 and reaching the Division 2 state championship game. A big reason for that was the leadership and play of Johnson who enters 2024 as one of the top signal callers in the state. Johnson, who is , threw for 2,086 yards, 27 touchdowns and just three interceptions last season. He also led the state with a 147.9 passer rating and completed an impressive 74.2% of his passes as he earned honorable mention all-state honors. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound signal caller saved one of his best individual performances for last with 215 yards and four touchdowns in the Warriors鈥� state championship loss and that should give him momentum toward another strong senior season heading into the fall.
