Top 10 Wisconsin HS football players in Class of 2025
3. Tre Poteat, CB, Verona Area
Poteat comes from good bloodlines as his father, Hank Poteat, was a former college star at Pittsburgh and a third-round NFL draft pick of the Steelers in 2000 who spent nine years in the league. Tre will soon follow his father鈥檚 path as a collegiate player at Tennessee, but first, the 6-foot, 175-pound three-star recruit will aim to finish his prep career at Verona Area High School on a high note. Tre, who is also a basketball star for the Wildcats, does a little bit of everything on the football field, lining up at cornerback, running back, receiver and as a kick returner. Tre scored five touchdowns receiving, four times rushing and twice as a returner last year while also shining in the secondary as he was named a first-team all-state corner with 76 tackles and one interception. His athletic ability should translate well in Knoxville following his senior year.
