Diaz will have big shoes to fill in Durham in replacing Mike Elko. The 50-year-old has proven that he is an elite defensive coordinator, but now he will get a second crack at being a head coach. He could be a quick riser if he finds success at Duke after a lackluster stint at the University of Miami.
