Rome鈥檚 receiving total of 4,477 yards ranks second in Georgia high school history. It remains the oldest record in the top 10 鈥� having been set over 50 years ago at Valdosta High School.听
He went on to play football and basketball for Clemson before having a brief NFL career as an 11th round pick from the 1979 draft.
