It was a down season for the Tigers who did get hot near the end but were ultimately eliminated in the regional round of the NCAA tournament. LSU will lose a lot of good pitching to the MLB draft, but it is also losing a couple of talented sluggers in Tommy White and Jared Jones. Gaffney is the caliber of player the Tigers should be targeting and he could slot in as the replacement for Jones at first base.
