Justy Pritchard has led the Box Elder Bees this last month to a 9-1 record. Hitting just over .400 with 5 home runs, 20 RBI and 4 stolen bases. She is a leader on and off the field, helping this team mold into a competitive team going into the playoffs. The most recent highlight was going 3-4 with a home run and 3 RBIs in a win over a highly ranked Bonneville team. -Coach Brian Merrill
What are your personal goals within your sport/athletic dreams?
Justy Pritchard: The goal is to try and focus on improving my skills at 3rd base and at bat every game.
What is your biggest challenge in your sport, and what do you do to manage this challenge?
Pritchard: Maintaining confidence is my biggest challenge. How I manage this is to try to see the positive aspects of the sport and work on my weaknesses.
What was the best advice you were ever given?
Pritchard: Work hard and play for the team.
What do you love about your sport?
Pritchard: How it helped me grow as a person on and off the field.
Do you have a pregame ritual you follow?
Pritchard: Pray as a team before every game.
What do you like to do outside of your sport?
Pritchard: Ride dirt bikes and go camping.
What have you learned by being a member of a team?
Pritchard: Cheer on my teammates, not only through the wins but losses as well.
What is the best advice you received from a coach or mentor?
Pritchard: Use my frustration as fuel.
Describe a mistake you made while competing and how you overcame it.
Pritchard: When I miss a play or didn鈥檛 execute a bunt. I would try and focus on those weaknesses in practice to improve those skills.
