LSU is one of multiple SEC teams that had its season end earlier than expected, particularly after winning a national championship in dominant fashion in 2023. Now, Jay Johnson will look to retool his roster heading into 2025. The Tigers had a relatively youthful squad in 2024 that was led by power bats Tommy White, Jared Jones and Hayden Travinski. While White and Jones have eligibility remaining, both are expected to be early-round MLB draft picks. Meanwhile, Travinski, who played first base along with Jones, is out of eligibility. That means LSU could be squarely in the market for another first baseman, and a power-hitting veteran like Kash could fit the bill.
