Atwood has been one of the best hitters in college softball and was recently named Softball America鈥檚 Player of the Year for the 2024 season. Coming off a second-team All-Big 12 season as just a freshman in 2023, the 6-foot standout鈥檚 game has taken a big step forward as a sophomore as she has hit .435 with a .505 on-base percentage and a .904 slugging percentage, resulting in an impressive 1.409 OPS. Atwood is fifth in the country with 23 home runs and leads all Division I players by a fairly sizable margin in RBIs with 90. The Big 12 Player of the Year has continued to look dominant in the postseason thus far and has the potential to be the most valuable player in this year鈥檚 Women鈥檚 College World Series.
