Top 10 pitchers in the 2024 NCAA baseball regular season
Chase Burns, Wake Forest
Wake Forest hasn鈥檛 been as dominant as it was in 2023, but the Demon Deacons still feature plenty of talent headlined by their ace pitcher Burns who is expected to be selected early in the first round of the 2024 MLB Draft. The talented right-handed junior has gone an impressive 10-1 across 14 appearances this season with a 2.63 ERA and a 0.84 WHIP, the latter of which is top five in the country. The 6-foot-3 standout also leads the nation by a relatively wide margin with 169 strikeouts 鈥 aided by a 16-strikeout game earlier this month 鈥 and has struck out 17.09 batters per nine innings while limiting opponents to just a .164 average. Burns has one of the most lethal arms in the entire country and the success of the former Tennessee flamethrower will be key to Wake Forest making a run over the next few weeks.
