Karly Meredith, a standout pitcher from the Class of 2025, has been there since day one for Kaukauna鈥檚 100-game winning streak. She is Wisconsin鈥檚 reigning softball Gatorade Player of the Year and is committed to playing for the Virginia Cavaliers.聽
鈥淭he expectation is high and taught me how to persevere through hardships and strive to get better each and every day,鈥 Meredith said about Kaukauna鈥檚 winning streak. 鈥淏oth Virginia and Kaukauna want to be successful, and Kaukauna softball has taught me what it means to be a part of a winning team.鈥澛

Kaukauna is just 12 wins away from tying the all-time high school softball consecutive wins record 鈥 and 13 from breaking it. So long as the program keeps winning, it is expected to break the record early next season.聽聽
鈥淚 think that would be cool to achieve (the record), but not our main goal or focus,鈥 Meredith said. 鈥淚f we keep staying within ourselves, I think we could achieve that.鈥
Kaukauna鈥檚 softball coach, Tim Roehrig, noted, 鈥淚 guess we really do not think about that (breaking the all-time record) since we are too focused on the next game. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it doesn’t.鈥澛犅
Kaukauna must win its fourth consecutive state title later this season to keep the winning streak alive.聽
鈥淲e focus on the next game, and eventually our goal is to win the state title,鈥 Roehrig said.聽
Up next, Kaukauna is going for win No. 101 against Appleton East on Tuesday.聽
鈥淭he kids have been dedicated to the game since they were 6 years old,鈥 Roehrig said. 鈥淭heir work ethic and desire to win has been unbelievable.鈥
