Chaz Lanier enters transfer portal: 5 possible landing spots
Tennessee Volunteers
Lanier is a native of Nashville so returning to his home state to play in Knoxville seems like it could be on the table. Rick Barnes would likely be more than willing to take a shot on another talented mid-major scorer in the portal after making one of the top moves of the offseason last year with a similar talent, Dalton Knecht. Lanier has a slightly different build and skill set than the departing Knecht, but his shooting ability from deep would help Tennessee mask the loss of one of the best players in the country. Meanwhile, the Volunteers are also going to lose guards Josiah-Jordan James and Santiago Vescovi who are both out of eligibility and will only add one guard as of right now: Class of 2024 prospect Bishop Boswell. That makes a run at a talented in-state product like Lanier a nice option for Barnes.
