Mason Gillis transferring: 5 landing spots for forward
Ohio State
The Buckeyes are another Big Ten program that offered Gillis out of high school that could use his services. Jamison Battle exhausted his eligibility while fellow forward Zed Key entered the transfer portal. Top Ohio State 3-point shooter Scotty Middleton is also looking to transfer. With a potential need at power forward and wing, Gillis could fit the mold in either.
While a bulk of the coaching staff that previously offered Gillis is now gone, head coach Jake Diebler has seen him play for four years and knows what he鈥檇 be getting in the forward. Gillis is comfortable playing in the Big Ten and saw the late-season surge the Buckeyes made under their new head coach. Given the need, familiarity with the program and conference and the team鈥檚 potential it showed at the end of last year, Gillis may be intrigued with what Ohio State has to offer.
