Middletown HS staff play basketball for a cause
MIDDLETOWN, Md. — The Ides of March marked the Darcars Kia of Federick’s first annual Battle for South Mountain, where staff from Middletown High, Middle, and Elementary Schools competed in a friendly competition against staff from Brunswick schools.
The teams were both coached by players from Flying Cows, a new professional basketball team in Frederick. To make things even better, all the proceeds went to Frederick County Mental Health Association.
Before the game, MHS teacher Rebecca Larson said, 鈥淭here is a lot of energy here. We are all very excited as well as nervous, but whatever happens, it鈥檚 totally OK because it is for charity.鈥
The match had an amazing turnout with the Middletown and Brunswick communities coming together. In the end, Middletown came out on top, winning 58 to 52.
