The Cougars were another team interested in Haggerty coming out of high school, offering him a scholarship. With Jamal Shead potentially heading to the NBA, Houston may need a dynamic scoring point guard. Haggerty, a native of nearby Crosby, could be the solution.
If Haggerty did join the Cougars, he would be able to return to his home state and play for a team near his hometown. He would also join a team with an opportunity to have much of its production return and is currently in the Sweet 16.
