Zeke Mayo enters transfer portal: 5 possible landing spots
Kansas Jayhawks
Mayo is a Lawrence native so a move back home to play for one of the top programs in college basketball seems like a natural fit. Bill Self has utilized the transfer portal more frequently recently and made a splash addition by adding Hunter Dickinson last offseason. Self also added multiple mid-major players headlined by Nick Timberlake. Landing Mayo wouldn’t quite be as big of a splash as Dickinson, but it would give Kansas another talented scorer. The Jayhawks already lacked depth in 2023-24, but will now lose Kevin McCullar Jr., who is out of eligibility, and potentially also Johnny Furphy to the NBA. Kansas does have a couple of top-50 incoming guards and a young talent in the backcourt with Elmarko Jackson, but Mayo could immediately step in and fill the scoring void left behind by McCullar Jr. on this talented roster.
