Omoruyi was pursued by St. John鈥檚 coming out of high school during the Chris Mullin to Mike Anderson coaching transition. Rick Pitino is now at the helm for the Red Storm, and that could make the program an even more enticing spot for Omoruyi. Pitino has produced some tremendous talent during his illustrious career and a year spent learning from the longtime coach could be beneficial for Omoruyi as he pursues a pro career in the future. At the same time, Omoruyi would fill a big hole for St. John鈥檚 as the team鈥檚 only current player over 6-foot-7, Joel Soriano, is out of eligibility.
