Top 10 players from the West Region of the NCAA Tournament
5. Oumar Ballo, C, Arizona
Ballo and the Wildcats have had disappointing tournament runs the past two seasons, losing as the one-seed in the Sweet 16 in 2022 and as the two-seed in the Round of 64 in 2023. They’re a two-seed again this year and their star big man is playing his best basketball. In Arizona’s previous 13 games, Ballo has tallied a double-double in 12 games. The seven-footer averaged 13.1 points and 10.1 rebounds this season and shot 64.9% from the floor. When he and the Wildcats’ guards are playing well at the same time, they’re nearly unstoppable.Â
HUGE momentum shift into the first media timeout.
Oregon cut the deficit to 4, but Keshad Johnson slams it home for Zona’s first bucket in over nine minutes of play and Oumar Ballo gets the massive block on the other end and hits the Mutumbo finger wag.
38-32 Zona
