8. Carson Rhodes, RHP/2B, Salem
Another hard-throwing right-handed pitcher, Rhodes has a fastball that tops out at 91 mph with a slider and changeup to compliment. He and the Quakers were big underdogs in their sectional opener against Streetsboro last season but Rhodes tossed six innings, allowed six walks and struck out 10 on the way to a victory before losing in the sectional championship a game later. His brother, Lane, currently pitches for the Youngstown State Penguins but Carson plans to play for the Virginia Tech Hokies following the season.
