Mike Boynton fired; 5 candidates for Oklahoma State head coach
STILLWATER, Okla. (BVM) – The Oklahoma State Cowboys men’s basketball program announced the firing of head coach Mike Boynton on Thursday as the school will begin a national search. Boynton finished his Cowboys tenure with a 119-109 record and one NCAA Tournament berth, but things went south this season as Oklahoma State finished 12-20 and tied for No. 13 in the Big 12.

While the Cowboys haven’t made it beyond the NCAA Tournament’s Round of 32 since 2005, the program has a long history of success including 28 total appearances in the NCAA Tournament, 11 Elite Eight appearances, six Final Four appearances and two national championships.
