Mike Boynton fired; 5 candidates for Oklahoma State head coach
STILLWATER, Okla. (BVM) 鈥� The Oklahoma State Cowboys men鈥檚 basketball program announced the firing of head coach Mike Boynton on Thursday as the school will begin a national search. Boynton finished his Cowboys tenure with a 119-109 record and one NCAA Tournament berth, but things went south this season as Oklahoma State finished 12-20 and tied for No. 13 in the Big 12.

While the Cowboys haven鈥檛 made it beyond the NCAA Tournament鈥檚 Round of 32 since 2005, the program has a long history of success including 28 total appearances in the NCAA Tournament, 11 Elite Eight appearances, six Final Four appearances and two national championships. With a rich tradition and a spot in one of the nation鈥檚 best conferences, Oklahoma State will be a desirable landing spot for any potential head coach. Here are five candidates for the Cowboys.
