Q&A With Marvin Ridge basketball player Cinjun Bridges
WAXHAW, N.C. — A Q&A with Cinjun Bridges who is a senior at Marvin Ridge High school and is a member of the basketball team.
Years in current sport: 4 Year Varsity Starter at MRHS
Team/s: MRMS Mavs and CC Elite
What are your personal goals within your sport/athletic dreams?
Cinjun Bridges: My short-term goal is to become conference champions to finish out my senior season. My long-term dream is to play college basketball.
What was the best advice you were ever given?
Bridges: My Grandfather, who was a college basketball coach for over 20 years, always said that I鈥檓 the best player on the court and is always there to give me confidence and teaching points.
What do you love about your sport?
Bridges: I like bonding with teammates and coaches and creating amazing memories and relationships.
Do you have a pregame ritual you follow?
Bridges: I make sure to hydrate and stretch. Before our games, we have a team shootaround in the auxiliary gym. We also have a pregame prayer right before we run out onto the court.
What has being a member of a team taught you?
Bridges: Being a part of the MRHS basketball program for 4 years has taught me to be a leader both on and off the court. The little things you do together as a team is what really breeds a good basketball team.
Describe a mistake you made while competing and how you overcame it.
Bridges: I used to let other teams change how I normally play due to their fast-pace or unorganized style of play and it got me out of the MRHS 鈥渂rand鈥 of basketball. This year, we have done a great job of playing how we play and making other teams play our style, which I believe is a huge reason that we are having one of the our best seasons.
