10 unheralded players who could impact March Madness
JT Toppin, F, New Mexico
Another Mountain West star, Toppin has done wonders as only a freshman for the Lobos. The 6-foot-9 forward ranks No. 52 in the country in rebounding average at 8.8. He also does a good job scoring, averaging 12.5 points on 62.9% shooting, good for No. 15 in the country. Toppin also averages two blocks per game, good for No. 34 in the nation.
While teammates Jaelen House, Jamal Mashburn Jr. and Donovan Dent tend to get more recognition given their experience, Toppin has quickly proven he belongs among the group. If he plays his cards right at the NCAA Tournament, he could be the player tasked to lead the team into the future.
