Playing catcher is often a thankless job but also is one of the most vital positions in the sport. Winchester has developed into one of the top senior catchers in the country in recent years and is the top-rated backstop in the Bayou State. Last season, Winchester played a key role for a St. Paul鈥檚 team that won a district championship both behind the plate and in the batter鈥檚 box as the switch hitter had a .341 batting average, .476 on-base percentage, four home runs and 22 RBIs. The 5-foot-11, 180-pound senior should build on those numbers in his final season with the Wolves before he begins his college baseball career at Air Force.
