Ranking the Pac-12鈥檚 best basketball players at midway point
1. KJ Simpson, G, Colorado
Colorado has a lot of talented pieces that have led the Buffaloes to win 15 of their first 20 games this season and should have them in the mix to win a Pac-12 title. While players like Tristan da Silva, Cody Williams and Eddie Lampkin Jr. have all played well, the biggest difference-maker for the Buffs has been Simpson. The 6-foot-2 junior guard leads Colorado with 19.2 points and 4.1 assists per contest, with both averages ranking in the top five in the conference. Simpson also grabs 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 50.8% from the field, 46.8% from deep and 89.2% from the free-throw line. As good as Simpson is on offense, he is also one of the better defensive guards in the league and averages 1.9 steals. Simpson鈥檚 name is one to remember come March.
