Top 10 college football RBs returning for 2024 season
7. Donovan Edwards
Most teams in the Big Ten are already aware of the elite upside that Edwards has. Even while playing behind star halfback Blake Corum, Edwards has produced time and again at Michigan and has shown elite burst and speed during his time wearing the maize and blue. As a true freshman in 2021, Edwards put up over 400 yards of total offense before an expanded role led him to nearly produce a 1,000-yard rushing season in 2022. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound back should eclipse the 1,000-yard mark as a senior following another productive campaign in 2023. Edwards will now have the backfield to himself with Corum gone, and with J.J. McCarthy also headed to the NFL, the Wolverines are likely to lean on their run game, giving Edwards the potential to become the top running back in the Big Ten next season.
