Top 10 college football RBs returning for 2024 season
1. Ollie Gordon II
Gordon II held plenty of potential as he took over as Oklahoma State’s lead back in 2023, but he surprised many with how truly dominant he was as a sophomore. After rushing for 300 yards while averaging five yards per carry in 2022, Gordon II took his game to a new level in 2023, leading the nation with 1,732 rushing yards as he put together 100-yard rushing efforts in nine of the Cowboys’ final 11 games. He also had back-to-back games with over 270 rushing during that stretch. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound back totaled 21 rushing touchdowns while averaging an impressive 6.1 yards per carry, and also contributed as a receiver with 39 receptions for 330 yards and a score. The reigning Doak Walker Award winner will enter next season as the nation’s top back and a potential Heisman candidate before likely heading off to the NFL.
