7. NC State
NC State has lost only three games thus far to teams that have combined for just four losses: Ole Miss, BYU and Tennessee. Getting one of those games would have boosted the Wolfpack鈥檚 early-season resume, but it has still been a nice start for Kevin Keatts鈥� squad coming off of their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2018 last season. One of the Wolfpack鈥檚 top returning players from last year, 6-foot-9, 275-pound forward DJ Burns, has again been solid, while NC State鈥檚 transfers including leading scorer DJ Horne 鈥� who鈥檚 shooting 44.3% from 3-point range 鈥� and guard Jayden Taylor have aided the Wolfpack鈥檚 strong start. NC State could be a team nobody wants to face late in the year as those players continue to gel.
