Eli Holstein enters transfer portal; 5 possible landing spots

It is hard to imagine anyone beating out Nico Iamaleava next season. The problem however is the lack of backup QB options that will be on the Volunteers鈥� roster. Joe Milton is leaving for the NFL, leaving Gaston Moore as the most logical option if he opts to stay. Four-star recruit Jake Merklinger will also be joining the program. Holstein could sit behind Iamaleava until he leaves, and then compete with Merklinger and whoever else would be on the roster for the starting job. Josh Heupel鈥檚 QB track record makes this a more appealing option.
