Ranking the 9 new Power 5 head coach hires this offseason
7. Trent Bray, Oregon State
Bray lives and breathes Oregon State football. The former Beavers linebacker has worked his way up the coaching ladder from a graduate assistant with Arizona State to a graduate position with Oregon State before moving to Nebraska and then returning to Corvallis. He spent the last two and a half years as the team鈥檚 defensive coordinator, helping elevate the unit to one of the nation鈥檚 best and got the call-up to the head coach position following the departure of Jonathan Smith.
While Bray has shown he can be an elite defensive coach, this is his first role as a head coach and he has a lot to prove. Fortunately for Bray, he knows the Beavers program inside and out, both as a player and coach, so he should be able to connect to the team鈥檚 athletes and recruits. However, given his lack of experience as a head coach, he falls behind others on this list.
