Ranking the 9 new Power 5 head coach hires this offseason
9. Fran Brown, Syracuse
Brown has an impressive resume as a defensive backs coach with stops at Baylor, Temple, Rutgers and Georgia. He鈥檚 also considered one of the top recruiters in the country, having recruited players such as Sean Chandler, P.J. Walker, Hasson Reddick, Jullian Taylor, Sharif Finch, Jacob Martin and Raquell Armstead.
However, Brown doesn鈥檛 have much high-end coaching experience. The highest position he鈥檚 held on a staff was when he was the co-defensive coordinator for Temple during the 2019 season. That makes this jump to a head job curious as, while he鈥檚 shown to be elite in his role as a position coach, can Brown be that elite as a head coach?
