Washington is familiar with hoops in Kentucky, despite the fact he transferred back to the state this year. After spending his first two seasons with the Centurions, Washington went to Chaminade-Julienne in Dayton, Ohio last year where he and his brothers helped the team to a 26-3 record and an appearance in the Ohio High School Athletics Association Division II state basketball championship Final Four. As a sophomore for CAL, Washington averaged 12.9 points and 1.5 rebounds.
While not as talented as his older brother George, who plays for the Michigan Wolverines, Jackson has proven to be a strong player as well, ranking as the No. 36 player in the Midwest by and No. 8 player in the state by .
