Meet Piedra Vista soccer sisters Saylor and Analyse Healy; Sophie and Emilie Larkins

FARMINGTON, N.M. —

The Healy Sisters

Saylor and Analyse Healy started soccer as preschoolers at three years old and have never stopped playing. The girls are encouraged by a family with a strong commitment and love of the sport. They have progressed from playing with their local youth soccer teams, to competitive club soccer and to both of them playing for Piedra Vista High School Varsity.

The girls have benefitted from the committed coaches and soccer camps they have attended over the years. The Healy sisters are determined and highly competitive, yet work well together on the field to strengthen PV’s offense and lead in scoring.

Saylor is a senior this year and has played on the varsity team since her freshman year. She participated in the New Mexico Olympic Development Team for soccer in 2022 and was selected to compete in the West Regionals. She also enjoys off-road racing alongside her dad, Loren. She is currently taking college courses alongside her high school credits. She is interested in a career in the medical field and is considering continuing with soccer.

Analyse is a sophomore and has been a varsity starter at PV since eighth grade, receiving All-District Honorable Mention in her first year. She also participated in the New Mexico Olympic Development Team (ODP) for soccer in 2022 and was selected to compete in the West Regionals. She continues to participate in ODP this season. Lyse plays for the NM DPL Rush Team (Development Player League), an elite national all-girls league that strives to develop players by enabling them to compete and showcase their talents. She hopes to continue her soccer journey at the next level after high school.

The Healy sisters enjoy contributing to the Piedra Vista girls’ soccer legacy and have had a great ending to the season in their last year playing together.

The Larkins Twins

Sophie and Emilie Larkins started playing soccer together when they were nine years old. Adam Kinney was actually their first coach. He taught them how to truly play and find their love of the game.

They were then able to be a part of a team that Doug Mortenson put together, allowing them to play more tournaments out of state. The twins played for Doug’s team, Rush Hour, for about two years. From there, the girls started to play with the Zia Chicks, where they’ve been able to also travel and play with a team that has done very well! Their coaches, Lindsay and Ryan Rowse, have been amazing additions to their soccer journey. The Zia Chicks have been ranked #1 in New Mexico in their age division.

Sophie and Emilie have had some very knowledgeable coaches to help them learn and become continually better at the game. They are now sophomores and have been playing for Piedra Vista High School since their eighth-grade year. This year they’ve been given the opportunity to be floaters and play for both junior varsity and varsity teams.

Sophie and Emilie have both always played defense, but this year the coaches have split them up, possibly so they can more easily tell them apart. Sophie has been playing forward and wing and has been able to get her first goals. Emilie continues to play defense and uses her speed to save their opponents from scoring.

They have had great seasons and are grateful to their family, teammates, and coaches. They each have plans to play in college to continue developing their skills and playing the game they love.
