FARMINGTON, N.M. — Elysia and Savanah Kinney have been 鈥渢eammates鈥 all their lives and there is something special about watching them together on the field. The athleticism, dedication, and determination they both exhibit are testaments to their unwavering spirits. As sisters and teammates, the bond they have is extraordinary. The way they support and encourage each other’s growth and celebrate victories together is a reflection of the strong foundation of love and camaraderie they share. The girls have been playing soccer since Savanah was four years old and Elysia was seven years old. They began playing recreational soccer and then moved up to club soccer. Over the years, they have gained so much experience, grit, and skill that will aid them in their future. A big part of their success was having some amazing coaches and teammates. For several seasons, their dad was on the sidelines, coaching them as well.

The opportunity that Piedra Vista High School soccer has given them is extraordinary! They give it their all in every match, displaying skill, sportsmanship, and their love for the game. It’s a privilege to watch them making memories they will carry for a lifetime.

Off the field, they are just as passionate for success. Elysia is a senior and is a part of the Umattr Organization, a program only a few seniors are selected for. In this program, she goes to schools and other facilities in our community to serve as a positive role model speaking about how she stays drug and alcohol-free. She is also a Big Sister to a child in need. Currently, she鈥檚 taking college classes at San Juan College to graduate with some prerequisite courses and credits to further her education at UNM.

Savanah is a sophomore. She enjoys school, strives to make good grades, and works hard at everything that comes her way. She鈥檚 very passionate about soccer as this is her second year playing on varsity. She hopes to continue her soccer career throughout the rest of high school. It fills our hearts with immense pride and joy to watch them play. It has been a fantastic end to this experience of having 鈥淭he Kinney Sisters鈥 on the field together.

To Elysia and Savanah: You have grown up to be amazing young ladies that our entire family is proud of! As you continue this journey, remember that every challenge you face is an opportunity to grow stronger. The resilience and passion for soccer that you both have is inspiring. We have no doubt that you will achieve even greater heights in the future. Always trust in God, believe in yourself and your abilities, and know that we are your biggest fans, both on and off the field. Cherish these moments, our dear daughters, for they are shaping you into the remarkable individuals you are becoming. We wish you continued success, unwavering determination, and a love for the game that never fades.

With all our love,

Mom & Dad
