The tenacity of Tyrel Heredia Ribalkin: Kelowna area youth karate athlete

KELOWNA, British Columbia — Motivation is the watchword for this local athlete. Tyrel Heredia Ribalkin is only 15 years old but he has been practicing the art of karate for 11 years. As a result of his dedication and hard work, Tyrel has his Shodan black belt.

Recently, Tyrel traveled to Newmarket, Ontario for a karate championship. There was fierce competition but he was pleased to bring home three bronze medals in the categories of Individual Kata, Team Kata, and Individual Kumite.

Tyrel is motivated by many factors. First, there is the fact that karate teaches self-defense and is a good way to stay fit. He is also motivated by his Sensei Paul Atkin and all the other members of his karate community. Together, they give their support to help him learn new skills.

Next up for Tyrel is working towards his Nidan black belt. With such tenacity, there seems to be nothing stopping Tyrel. We wish you all the luck in the future!
