Top 5 Illinois girls basketball players in Class of 2024
2. Xamiya Walton, G, Butler College Prep
Walton is no stranger to a list like this as she has proved she is one of the best girls high school basketball players in Illinois since becoming a starter at Butler College Prep as just a freshman. The 5-foot-7 guard has been a first-team all-state player each of her first three seasons with the Lynx, has already scored 2,000 points in her prep career and holds an IHSA record with 15 3-point makes in a single game 鈥 a mark she set last January. Walton averaged 23.2 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.6 assists overall last season as she led the Lynx to the state semifinals. Following what should be a strong finish to her high school career, the 52nd-ranked player in the Class of 2024 will stay in-state to play at Northwestern.
