Asuma has accumulated over 2,000 career points throughout his high school career and as a junior, he averaged 21 points, 8.8 rebounds and 6.5 assists while guiding Cherry to its first Class A tournament appearance in 25 years. The 6-foot-3 guard received offers from Butler, Iowa, Iowa State, Nebraska and others but chose to stay home and team up with Grove at the University of Minnesota.
