Not many schools have a backup QB who has already played in SEC-level football games, but the Aggies had that luxury when Connor Weigman went down with a foot injury. Johnson, who spent his first two years at LSU, has been decent in relief with seven touchdowns and four interceptions. Weigman should be the obvious starter in College Station for 2024, which would likely result in Johnson entering the transfer portal once again.
