Counsell’s contract with the Milwaukee Brewers ends on Oct. 31, and it remains to be seen if he’ll sign an extension with the franchise. He made $3.5 million this past season, and according to , Counsell may want $5-6 million per year, making him one of the highest-paid managers in MLB. He’s also won over 700 games in Milwaukee, and if he wants to win more games and continue to compete for a World Series title, a move to Houston could be in the cards, but it’ll be up to team owner Jim Crane to pay Counsell that much.
