6. Ismail Mahdi, RB, Texas State
The lone Group of Five player on this list, Mahdi is more than deserving of this spot. The Houston Christian transfer has done everything for the Bobcats, leading them to four wins, already tied for the same amount the team had all of last season and an upset win over Baylor in Week 1.
Mahdi ranks No. 1 in the country in all-purpose yards with 1,131 total yards (676 rushing yards, 280 kickoff return yards and 175 receiving yards). His 676 rushing yards also rank sixth in the country and he has added 10 total touchdowns, tied for third in the country for position players.
