10. Thomas Castellanos, QB, Boston College
Castellanos didn’t come into the season as a well-known commodity and actually started the year backing up Emmett Morehead. However, after Morehead disappointed in the opening half of the Eagles’ season opener against NIU, Castellanos was thrust into the quarterback role and he has made the most of it.
Over the course of his five starts, the UCF transfer has led Boston College to a 3-2 record with the only losses coming to ranked Florida State and Louisville. In his six games of action, Castellanos has recorded 1,143 passing yards, 10 touchdown passes and five interceptions while also rushing for 500 yards and seven more scores. The true sophomore is currently ranked No. 12 in the nation for points responsible for, proving he has what it takes to be a starting quarterback at the FBS level.
