Pink-Out at Blessed Sacrament Huguenot in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
POWHATAN, Va. — Every October the Blessed Sacrament Huguenot girls volleyball team dons their pink jerseys for each match in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. The BSH students and fans support these Pink-Out games by attending the matches dressed all in pink. The Pink-Out volleyball tradition at BSH has been going on for years and was inspired by The Dig Pink movement and The Side-Out Foundation, established in 2004 by West Springfield High School girls volleyball coach Rick Dunetz, after his mother, Gloria, was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer.

Every October the girls look forward to wearing their pink jerseys and helping support the Breast Cancer Awareness movement. Many of us personally know family or friends impacted by breast cancer and understand that early detection is the key to survival.
October 3rd was the Lady Knights first Pink-Out game and we defeated Southampton Academy in 4 sets.
