Simmons is arguably the Broncos鈥� best player which means it would hurt in the short term to part ways with the three-time All-Pro, but a trade would likely net Denver more than a deal involving any other player on its roster would. The veteran safety turns 30 years old next month and is coming off a season in 2022 when he was the NFL鈥檚 co-leader in interceptions (6). With a cap hit of $18.15 million this season, that number jumps slightly ($18.25 million) in 2024 before Simmons becomes a free agent in 2025.
