WILLIS, Texas (BVM) 鈥 DJ Lagway is one of the best high school QBs in the entire country and on Thursday night he showed why.
The No. 2 quarterback in the class of 2024 according to racked up 391 yards with five touchdowns in Willis鈥 56-17 win over College Park. The Wildkats are now off to a 7-0 start as they look like one of the most dangerous teams in all of Texas.

Lagway鈥檚 great outing is somehow one of his more mild statlines this season as the five-star recruit has thrown seven touchdown passes in one half on two separate occasions this season.
He had a strong junior campaign throwing for 2,081 yards and 24 touchdowns, but he has already eclipsed those numbers in his seven games as a senior.
Despite the fantastic start, the Willis, Texas, native thinks there is more in store for himself and his team.
鈥淚t feels good, but I feel like we haven鈥檛 touched our true capacity yet,鈥 Lagway told . 鈥淲e haven鈥檛 played a complete game of football yet to where our offense is clicking and our defense is clicking. I can鈥檛 wait for that to happen and I feel like it鈥檚 gonna happen at the right time. I feel like we still have a lot of room for improvement. I had a couple of turnovers myself. We have to clean that up for sure.鈥

Lagway鈥檚 drive to get better is likely why he is as good as he is and shows how much value he can bring to a program as a leader as well. The University of Florida is the future home of the 6-foot-2, 225-pound QB who still has unfinished business in his prep career.
鈥淚 just want to leave it (Willis High School) better than I found it,鈥 Lagway said. 鈥淭hat鈥檚 gonna be the same thing for when I get to Florida.鈥
When he does get to the Gators鈥 program, do not be surprised if he winds up being a day one starter in Gainesville, Florida.
