Pork and pigskin: Iowa State football鈥檚 tasty new NIL deal
AMES, IOWA (BVM) — The new world of NIL in college athletics has brought in some entertaining endorsement deals, but four Iowa State football players may have the best one yet.
The Iowa Pork Producers Association has signed Myles Purchase, Tyler Moore, Tommy Hamann and Caleb Bacon. When their names are spelled out, you get: Purchase Moore Hamann Bacon.

The association is donating $1,000 of pork to each player鈥檚 food pantry of choice.聽
鈥淎fter the 鈥鈥 photo went viral on social media following the Cyclones鈥 season opener, we knew we had to jump on this opportunity,鈥 said Trish Cook, the president of the Iowa Pork Producers Association, in a . 鈥淭hese four young men are not only great football players, they also have strong academic records and great last names! We couldn鈥檛 be more excited to work with them in this fun initiative to publicize Iowa pork.鈥
Moore, a tight end from Des Moines, Iowa, chimed in on the campaign in the same press release.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a really crazy way to incorporate all of our names and I think it鈥檚 a great way to promote Iowa pork producers too,鈥 Moore said.
For sophomore linebacker Bacon, the deal was a long time coming.
鈥淧eople said I should take advantage of it (His last name), and it just came to fruition in that picture,鈥 Bacon said in the press release. 鈥淚 think it鈥檚 just good for our teammates and I鈥檇 like to thank the Iowa pork producers for this opportunity.鈥
The deal has brought some attention to the Iowa State football program who currently sits 2-2 on the season after a big win over Oklahoma State and will look to take down the Sooners in Norman, Oklahoma, this coming weekend.
If everything goes right for the Cyclones this year, they will end a two-year bowl game drought under head coach Matt Campbell.
