Rowan women鈥檚 soccer blanks Farmingdale State, 5-0
FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — Rowan ran off its third shutout in a row on Friday with a 5-0 win at Farmingdale State as part of the Rams Classic.
Mackenzie Clement netted a pair of goals for the Profs (3-0), who also saw Ava Morales and Olivia Giordano add a score and assist each.
Goalie Calista Burke made a save in 78 minutes of action before Gemma Keesler entered for the final 12 and would also record one stop to combine for the clean sheet.
Five minutes into the game, Rowan went up 1-0 on Morales’ first tally on the year off an assist from Sarah Bergan. Eight minutes later, Morales and Emma DeMaise set up Giordano for the sophomore’s second score of the season.
Staked to a 2-0 lead into the second half, Clement produced both of her goals just under a minute apart. The first goal came in the 55th minute (assisted by Lauren SanFelice) with the second coming 59 second later off a helper from Giordano.
Emily Casale capped the scoring with her first career goal in the 80th minute as the junior converted on a penalty kick.

The Profs continue action on Sunday when the squad takes on Western Connecticut State at Farmingdale State in a 1 p.m. start.
