Isaac Wilson, brother of Jets’ Zach Wilson, debuts with 5 TDs

DRAPER, Utah (BVM) – It was a good weekend for the Wilson family. Older brother Zach Wilson had a strong start to his NFL season Saturday, completing 70% of his passes while throwing for 123 yards and one touchdown in the New York Jets 27-0 preseason win over the Carolina Panthers. However, Zach’s younger brother, Isaac, had his sibling beat.

On Friday, Isaac, a senior quarterback at Corner Canyon High School in Draper, threw for 470 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 42 yards and another score in a 55-7 win over Granger in the team’s season opener.

Not only did Isaac’s performance impress his many fans in his home state, but it also garnered national attention as well. National high school sports website featured Isaac’s performance in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

This is nothing new for the signal caller. Last season, Isaac threw for 3,774 passing yards and 40 touchdowns while he rushed for 695 yards and five more scores. This performance helped  Corner Canyon to an 11-3 record and a berth in the Utah High Schools Activities Association Class 6A state title game.

Isaac’s performance couldn’t come as a shock to fans knowledgeable of the quarterback’s background. Not only is Isaac the younger brother of a former top-five NFL draft pick, but he’s also a stellar prospect in his own right. The 6-foot, 185-pound signal caller is ranked as the No. 2 prospect in Utah and the No. 20 quarterback in the Class of 2024 by

Given his high standing, Isaac held 19 offers from the likes of Miami, Oregon, UCLA and BYU, Zach’s alma mater. However, Isaac decided to commit to his home state school, Utah, where his father played.

With an impressive start to his senior campaign, Isaac surely has Utes fans excited for his future. Following a state championship game appearance a year ago, Isaac appears to have a chip on his shoulder this season as he looks to demolish any secondary that stands in his way. Fans across the country should only expect more gaudy numbers from the quarterback as the season progresses.
