Kentucky’s Deuce Hogan featured on ‘QB1: Beyond the Lights’
LEXINGTON, Ky. (BVM) – Netflix released three seasons of the docuseries “QB1: Beyond The Lights” from 2017-2019, but this wasn’t all the film that was taken. Yahoo Sports announced today that an unaired fourth season of the show would release on Tubi to coincide with two of the show’s stars, Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson, beginning their NFL careers this fall. While Richardson and Young will be the main draws for viewers, they aren’t the only QBs featured on the show.
Three years ago, Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson were featured on Netflix's "QB1" docuseries, but the season never released… until now.
Tubi will air all episodes of the fourth season, which chronicled their senior year of HS starting today.

The third quarterback starring in the show’s fourth season is Deuce Hogan, who’s currently playing for the Kentucky Wildcats. While Richardson and Young’s college careers resulted in both becoming first-round picks in this year’s NFL draft, Hogan’s college career has gone much differently.
The fourth season highlights Hogan’s senior year at Faith Christian High School in Grapevine, Texas where he was the starting quarterback under his father Kris. That year, Hogan had a great final campaign as he threw for 2,262 yards, 30 touchdowns and six interceptions while leading his Lions to a 10-2 record and an appearance in the 2019 TAPPS Division II semifinals.

Prior to his senior season, Hogan was already committed to the University of Iowa as one of the top quarterbacks in the Class of 2020. He was ranked as the No. 24 pro-style quarterback by , the No. 19 pocket passer by , and the No. 12 pro-style quarterback by .

Unfortunately for Hogan, things have not gone as expected at the collegiate level. After redshirting his first season at Iowa where he didn’t see any game action, Hogan saw some play during the Hawkeyes’ 2021 game against Maryland where he completed his first collegiate pass for two yards.

Following the 2021 season, Hogan decided to transfer to Kentucky where he joined the program as a walk-on.

In his first season with the Wildcats, Hogan served as Will Levis’ backup and saw action in games against Miami (OH), Florida and Iowa. Hogan saw his most game action during the team’s Music City Bowl against Iowa where he went 6-for-7 for 19 yards.
Mark Stoops says “consistency” is why Deuce Hogan won the backup quarterback spot behind Will Levis.

Despite Hogan’s bowl game showing, Kentucky decided to add to the quarterback position through the transfer portal with North Carolina State transfer Devin Leary. While Leary will enter the season as the Wildcats’ starter, the backup situation becomes a bit murkier. However, Hogan is being projected as the third-string quarterback by
Though Hogan may not end up leaving a major impact on the Wildcats during his junior year, he will look to become a worthy backup in hopes of being Kentucky’s QB of the future. With some solid performances in practices and mop-up duty, Hogan could leave an impression on the UK coaching staff heading into his senior campaign. For the Kentucky faithful, they will be able to see Hogan’s potential by watching the newest season of “QB1: Under the Lights” on Tubi.
