4. Jalen Smith, WR, Mankato West Senior
Smith is the first Mankato West football player to commit to a Power 5 school since 2012 (quarterback Philip Nelson). The caught 49 passes for 729 yards and eight touchdowns last season for the Scarlets but it鈥檚 what he did in April 鈥� running a 10.87 100m 鈥� that truly captured national attention. Offers from Iowa State, Kent State, North Dakota State and others began to roll in shortly after but Smith will join Minnesota鈥檚 talented 2024 class next fall.
