Top 10 Michigan HS football players in Class of 2024
9. Kari Jackson, LB, West Bloomfield
Several of Michigan’s top defensive standouts including Jalen Todd, Ty Hudkins and Jackson’s teammate, Jamir Benjamin, are also deserving of one of the final spots on this list. However, the nod goes to Jackson who has had a unique, yet special high school career thus far. After winning a state title as a freshman at West Bloomfield, Jackson left Michigan to play his sophomore season at IMG Academy in Florida. He returned to West Bloomfield for his junior season, though, and didn’t miss a beat. Across seven games, the 6-foot-2, 215-pound linebacker made 103 total tackles, 26 tackles for loss, three sacks and forced a fumble. With Jackson, Benjamin and standout defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain, the Lakers’ defense should again be strong in 2023 before Jackson heads off to play at Penn State.
