3. Peyton Lewis, RB, Salem
The top offensive skill position player in Virginia, Lewis is a threat every time he touches the ball. Last season, the 6-foot-1, 195-pound running back rushed for 1,560 yards and 17 touchdowns on his way to first-team all-state honors as a running back and kick returner and second-team honors as a punt returner. His versatility helped the Spartans to a 10-3 record and an appearance in the Class 4A region finals in the playoffs.
Lewis is a popular recruit as well as the unanimous four-star prospect ranks as highly as No. 3 prospect in the state by ESPN. He held 33 scholarship offers in total from programs such as Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Penn State and South Carolina but ultimately decided to take his talents to Knoxville and the Tennessee Volunteers.
