Pat Fitzgerald fired; 5 candidates for new Northwestern HC
1. Tommy Rees
Another former Wildcats graduate assistant coach, Rees has found a lot of success as a college football coach. After serving as the Notre Dame offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the past three seasons, Rees was hired as the offensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide this offseason.
While Rees has not yet shown his ability to coach in the SEC, if Northwestern decides to wait to hire a full-time head coach until after the season, Rees could build on his resume and make him an even more appealing hire for the Wildcats next year.
